The Original Red Bus operates three iconic open-top buses across the eastern side of Cyprus, serving Protaras, Pernera, Ayia Napa and Kapparis. We are proud to have a network of agents in the resorts of Protaras, Pernera, Ayia Napa and Kapparis including participating hotels. Our proudest achievement is the partnership we continue to maintain with the main Tour Operators (TUI and Jet2), we are the only open top bus operator offered by these Tour Operators.

After discovering a way to aid homeowners with the ability to flush toilet paper down the toilets he began converting drains.  This became more successful than his previous adventure, but Alan had still not found his holy grail.

That belief led him through a variety of ventures, including converting drainage systems to allow toilet paper to be flushed safely—an unexpectedly successful enterprise. Yet, Alan still felt he hadn’t found what he was truly meant to do.

Everything changed in spring 2008, when Alan joined forces with Dave Williams and his brother to form The Original Red Bus. At the time, Cyprus law prohibited open-top buses, but through persistence and determination, the founders succeeded in changing legislation—making history as the first company ever to operate open-top bus excursions in Cyprus.

Each founder brought unique skills to the business, and Alan’s background as a bus mechanic in the UK proved invaluable. He oversaw the maintenance and modification of the buses, ensuring they were safe, reliable, and perfectly suited to the tours.

Many of our team members are now shareholders in the company, inspiring them to deliver exceptional service that goes above and beyond expectations. In recognition of our dedication, we received the “Commitment to Tourism” Award in 2018, and for over 15 consecutive years we have proudly held a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence.
